Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons moong dal
- A pinch of turmeric
- 3 tablespoons of rice
- 1 small carrot, diced
- Water
- ½ teaspoon ghee
Method
- Wash dal and rice together, then put it to soak. Doing the same should take approximately 90 minutes.
- Put the rice and dal in a pressure cooker together with the carrots, turmeric and water.
- Cook the khichdi until it is smooth and mushy for about 4 whistles.
- Allow the child to cool down and feed it.
- You can temper the khichdi with mustard and cumin seeds for babies older than 1 year.
